The sign arrives.
You notice the same number three times before lunch. A song comes on that reminds you of them. A card falls from the deck and seems to answer the question you have been carrying for weeks.
You feel the small lift in your chest.
“There it is.”
Then, ten minutes later, the questions begin.
What does it really mean?
Is it about now or later?
Was that the sign, or was I just looking for one?
Should I pull another card?
You pull another card.
Then you ask a friend. You book a reading. You search the number online. You watch for another dream, another song, another odd little moment that feels too specific to ignore.
The answer arrived.
The certainty did not.
That gap can be confusing. You may even wonder if you missed something. Perhaps the message was not clear enough. Perhaps Spirit is asking you to wait. Perhaps you need one more sign before you can trust the first one.
But sometimes, the problem is not the message.
It is what you are asking the message to do.
The Shade
Guidance can bring clarity. It can help you see a situation from a different angle. A reading, a tarot card, a dream, or a repeating number may highlight something you have been unable to name.
That is one way to use guidance.
You look at what has been shown. You consider how it connects to your life. Then you decide what to do with it.
The other way is quieter.
You receive the message, but you do not act. You ask for more. You keep checking. You wait for the sign that will remove the risk from your choice.
This can happen with almost any decision.
Should I leave the job?
Should I contact them?
Should I move?
Should I say no?
Should I begin the thing I keep talking about?
You ask for guidance because you want to feel supported. But beneath that request may be another one.
“Please make this so obvious that I cannot be blamed if it goes wrong.”
That is not a silly request. It is a very human one.
Still, no card, reading, sign, or message can make a choice risk-free. Guidance may show a possible direction. It cannot control another person, guarantee an outcome, or take responsibility for your next move.
That part remains yours.
I have seen this pattern in readings. A client receives a clear message, then immediately starts building a case against it.
“But what if it means something else?”
“What if the timing is different?”
“What if I need to wait?”
“What if I ask again tomorrow?”
The conversation can become less about the guidance and more about finding a way not to respond to it.

The Roots
The need for more proof often begins with an old protection.
At some point, choosing may have felt unsafe.
Maybe you made a decision and someone blamed you for what followed. Maybe you were taught to be careful, agreeable, or certain before you took action. Maybe mistakes brought shame, conflict, or loss.
So your mind made a rule.
Do not move until you know.
Do not choose until you can prove it is right.
Do not take the first step unless you can see the whole road.
That rule may have helped once. It may have kept you from acting too quickly. It may have helped you avoid criticism or disappointment.
But old protection does not always know when the danger has passed.
Years later, it can show up as another tarot pull. Another reading. Another search for meaning. Another question sent into the dark.
You may believe you are seeking spiritual guidance.
Underneath, you may be trying to hand the decision to something outside yourself.
If the sign makes the choice, you do not have to carry the full weight of choosing. If the answer comes from someone else, you may feel less exposed.
The trouble is that every new answer creates another question.
Not because the guidance is failing.
Because your mind is checking whether it is safe to trust yourself.
That is why more information does not always help. You can collect ten messages and still feel stuck. You can hear the same theme from different readers and still find one reason to wait.
The mind is not always looking for information.
Sometimes it is looking for escape from responsibility.
This does not mean your signs are false. It does not mean tarot is useless. It does not mean you should ignore your intuition or stop connecting with Spirit.
It means the role of the message matters.
Guidance can illuminate the choice. It cannot choose for you.
A reading may show what is influencing you. A card may point to a fear you have been avoiding. A message from Spirit may bring comfort and a wider view. Your intuition may tell you what you already know but have not wanted to say out loud.
None of that removes your free will.
The sign can be real.
The decision can still be yours.
The Turn
The shift begins when you stop asking, “What else do I need to know?” and notice what happens after you receive an answer.
Do you take one small step?
Or do you create another question?
That moment is useful information. Not as a reason to judge yourself. As a way to see the pattern clearly.
In The Sunflower Effect, we look at what keeps you turned toward the shade. The pattern is often not on the surface. Positive thoughts placed over an old protection rarely change what happens next.
Deep subconscious work goes underneath the repeated behaviour.
Guided hypnosis can help update the old rule that says you must have complete certainty before you move. The aim is not to cover fear with a cheerful thought. It is to help the deeper part of you understand that a decision can be thoughtful without being guaranteed.
You can receive guidance and still pause.
You can feel uncertain and still choose.
You can make a decision without demanding that the future sign a contract first.
That is a different kind of trust. It is not blind trust. It is not pretending every choice will work out exactly as planned.
It is the ability to make a choice, pay attention, and adjust when new information arrives.

I think about how often we treat decisions as if they are locked doors.
We imagine there is one correct key. One perfect answer. One message that will tell us exactly what to do and protect us from regret.
Most decisions are not like that.
They are more like paths. You take a step. You learn something. You take another step. Sometimes you change direction.
The sign may have been there to help you see the path.
It was never meant to carry you down it.
When You Recognize Yourself Here
You may not need another sign today.
You may need a quiet moment with the one you already received.
Notice what it brought up. Relief. Fear. Hope. Anger. A sudden urge to ask again.
That reaction may tell you more than the symbol itself.
If the sign points toward a choice, ask yourself what you are waiting for the next message to remove. Is it the chance of disappointment? The possibility of being judged? The fear that you will have to admit you chose?
You do not have to answer all of those questions at once.
Recognition is the first movement.
In next week’s blog, we will look more closely at the question beneath the question:
Are you asking for guidance, or are you asking for permission?
That difference can change the way you use readings, cards, signs, and intuition. It can also show you why the answer keeps arriving while your life remains paused.
A New Journey Begins in September
If this pattern is familiar, Stop Chasing the Sign was created for this work.
It is a four-week guided group journey for people who are tired of waiting for certainty to make every choice feel safe. Through The Sunflower Effect, guided hypnosis, and deep subconscious work, we will look at what happens after guidance arrives.
The goal is not to argue against signs, tarot, mediumship, dreams, repeating numbers, or intuition. It is to change the pattern that keeps turning guidance into another reason to wait.
The program is $597 CAD for individual registration.
If you want to join with a friend, partner, or family member, the Join Together option is $997 CAD for two.
Each cohort has a maximum of 20 participants.
- Cohort A begins Tuesday, September 29, 2026
- Cohort B begins Thursday, October 1, 2026
You can learn more about The Sunflower Effect or contact me if you have questions before enrolling.
The sign may already have arrived.
Our work together begins with noticing what keeps you from moving after it does.
